For Catering Services to be provided by wowu limted, (‘Company’ or ‘we’)

These Terms and Conditions (including the Booking Form) apply to the following as may be applicable:

The contract will be between the Company and the Customer (stated below and hereinafter referred to as ‘Customer’, ‘you’, ‘your’). These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Wowu Limited may update these terms and conditions from time to time.  You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.

Prices and Services

  1. All prices listed are exclusive of VAT, except where stated.

  2. If the rate of VAT increases, Wowu Limited reserve the right to increase the total cost of the event by the amount specified by the government, on events already booked.

  3. Prices include crockery, cutlery and delivery where stated on your catering package.

  4. If the number of guests attending exceeds the numbers originally booked, and we are able to cater for them, we will charge, at the prevailing rate, for the greater number.

  5. If the number of guests is less than originally booked, we will still charge for the numbers ordered. Upon submitting your booking form and paying your deposit, you agree to the minimum spend as stipulated on your event proposal. Events are booked based on, but not limited to, the acceptance of that minimum spend.

  6. Final numbers of guests must be notified to us in writing no later than 14 days prior to the event. After this time if the numbers increase by up to 10 this can normally be accommodated, but this is not guaranteed and allowances cannot be made if the numbers drop.

  7. For a function at an external venue travel charges may apply.

  8. Unless agreed otherwise in writing the only services that the Company agrees to provide to you are the services specified in your catering package which you have agreed to in writing.

  9. Our contract with you for the provision of services will be concluded when you complete the Booking Form and your non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is cleared funds in our bank account.

  10. Wowu Limited is not responsible for the safe keeping of clients’ valuables, personal belongings and gifts and we recommend that all personal items are taken home with you at the end of your event.

  11. Wowu Limited reserves the right to adjust price lists and to run special offers as it deems necessary. Any changes to price lists or special offers will not affect bookings already made.

  12. Adults are not permitted to buy alcoholic drinks for under 18 year olds, as this is illegal.

  13. Gratuities are at your discretion.


  1. All deposits/holding fees/booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferable in any case. This is due to us purchasing/renting/hiring equipment/produce within just a few hours of your booking being confirmed.

  2. For other events a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit must be paid in cleared funds before your booking is confirmed, along with a completed booking form, which will be quoted based on the overall Price for the event. The balance of the Price will be due 4 weeks prior the event unless otherwise agreed.

  3. Payment can be made preferably by bank transfer into our company bank account, We do accept payment via our secure website page: This will occur a 2.5% processing fee. (Example a payment of £10 is made via our website – Only £9.75 will be deducted from the account balance)

  4. We do not accept payment via cheque.

  5. The Company reserves the right to charge interest on late payments.  For consumers, (as defined in the Consumer Rights Act 2015), the rate of interest is 4% above the base rate of Barclays Bank plc. For persons other than consumers (as so defined) the rate of interest shall be the higher of 8% and the rate specified from time to time in the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act.

  6. If you decide to transfer your event date, the company cancellation charges will apply and you will be required to complete a new booking form for the new date and pay a new deposit.


Wowu Limited reserves the right to cancel any function or event for any reason including but not limited to the following reasons:

  • a) If the client or Wowu Limited becomes insolvent or enters into liquidation or receivership.

  • b) If the event may prejudice the reputation or cause damage to Wowu Limited

In any of these situations Wowu Limited will refund any payments made in advance, but will have no further liability to the client.

The following cancellation charges will be applied, which reflect the costs and expenses we may incur on your behalf as the function date nears, and the reduced time available to us to obtain any alternative bookings:

  1. The Deposit paid is non-refundable, non-transferable regardless of the length of time prior to the event you decide to cancel.

  2. Cancellation between twelve months and six months prior to the event – you will owe us 60% of the total contract package price

  3. Cancellation between six months and three months prior to the event – you will owe us 75% of the total contract package price.

  4. Cancellation between three months and the event date – you will owe us 100% of the total contract package price.

All cancellations must be confirmed in writing. Only once written cancellation is received will the cancellation become effective.

Please note that all parties named in the booking form are jointly and severally liable for the sums payable under this agreement.


  1. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the accuracy of quotations, prices quoted only become binding once agreed in your catering package and once the Terms and Conditions come into force. It is the price quoted in your ‘catering package quotation’ which must be paid in full, however, the Company reserves the right to charge more for the food to be provided and / or for labour in the event that the cost of such items increases between the time of conclusion of the contract and the time of the event. In this case the price increase will only be the amount of additional cost directly incurred by the Company and any price change will be notified to you in writing as soon as possible, and in any case, prior to the event.

  2. All food which is not consumed within two hours at room temperature should be disposed of. Any person subsequently consuming food, or taking food home for consumption, does so at their own risk. Wowu limited cannot accept responsibility for food consumed otherwise than at the location at which the food is supplied, or after the initial two hour period.

  3. Food Allergies & Intolerances: Please note that all of our food contains allergenic ingredients. Special diets for food allergies will be catered for only if they have been arranged prior to your event and confirmed in writing. If you wish to know more about our ingredients, please speak to your Event Coordinator. Please note that we work with allergenic ingredients in our kitchen and whilst we will can cater for special diets for people with food allergies, we cannot guarantee that their meals will not contain traces of allergenic ingredients.

Limitation of liability

  1. Our liability for losses you suffer as a result of us breaking this agreement including deliberate breaches is strictly limited to the contract package price and any losses which are a foreseeable consequence of us breaking the agreement. Losses are foreseeable where they could be contemplated by you and us at the time your order is accepted by us. This does not include or limit in any way our liability:

    • (a) for death or personal injury caused by our negligence;

    • (b) under section 2(3) of the Consumer Protection Act 1987;

    • (c) for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or

    • (d) for any deliberate breaches of these Terms by us that would entitle you to terminate the contract between us.

    • (e) for any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude, or attempt to exclude, our liability.

  2. We are not responsible for indirect losses which happen as a side effect of the main loss or damage and which are not foreseeable by you and us including but not limited to:

    • (a) loss of income or revenue;

    • (b) loss of business;

    • (c) loss of profits or contracts;

    • (d) waste of management or office time however arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, even if foreseeable.


  1. Any equipment lost or damaged by you or any guest will be charged at the full replacement cost.

  2. Additional charges may apply for the hiring of site kitchens and specialist equipment and, if so these will be stated in your catering package.


  1. The Company reserves the right to charge (including for any applicable increased or overtime rates) more for staffing costs should any function run on longer than initially planned or detailed in the catering package through no fault of the Company or the caterers.


  1. Corkage for wine & champagne is charged at the rate specified in your catering package. This will cover the chilling, serving, glass hire and recycling of empty bottles. A fee can be agreed upon before the event (and if so this will be stated in the quotation) so there are no hidden charges or unexpected charges after the event.


  1. It is strongly recommended that clients arrange adequate Event & Cancellation Insurance to protect against cancellation, costs, damage, public liability.

Bad weather

  1. Wowu Limited cannot be held responsible in any way for any unsuitable weather conditions that may arise. The normal cancellation fee will be applicable in these situations.

Limitation of Liability and indemnity

The Company shall not be liable for events beyond its control or for indirect or consequential loss or damage, and the Company’s maximum liability (whether in Contract Tort or otherwise) shall not exceed the price paid for the Services and the Customer shall indemnify the Company in respect of any loss or damage to the Company or its property that is caused by the Customer.


These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the Laws of England and Wales and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Any notice shall be in writing, including by email, to the recipient’s email address as provided herein or otherwise as provided to the other party from time to time.

Glass/Tableware Hire Terms

Glassware and Tableware hire is available to both new and existing bookings.

For glassware/tableware only bookings (Where service is not accompanied by Catering booking) we require all glasses to be washed before returning – unless specified otherwise. Failure to return glasses in a clean state will occur a 25% charge of the total booking price.

All glassware must be returned or available for collection (as agreed) on the date specified in your booking. If glassware is not returned/available for collection on this date you will be charged 100% of the booking price per day.

Any missing, broken or damaged glasses will be charged at £1.20 per glass unless otherwise specified – regardless of how the damage may have occurred. Replacements for missing, broken or damaged glassware will not be accepted. Where stated, we do allow a small percentage of glassware to be damaged – should this be mentioned, We allow for up to 2.5% to be returned damaged. Should we witness or belief that glassware was damaged maliciously, due to mishandling or mis-treatment we reserve the right to withdraw the ‘Small percentage of glassware to be damaged’ clause and/or retract our services. We are not responsible for any costs incurred or any loss of services as a result of the above.

Glass/Tableware hire services are for personal/guest use only. We do not offer glassware hire to corporate or business clients unless otherwise agreed. In this event, all clients will be bound by the above terms and conditions.


Clients must contract for five hours of service, or more, to book an event unless otherwise agreed. Staff will leave client’s event at the time specified during the booking process. Should the client need staff for a longer period, which is limited to a maximum of three additional hours (Subject to staff availability), the client must pay the overtime rate. Currently charged at £26.00 per staff member per hour.

Arrival of staff

Should external staff be late or unable to attend due to severe Acts of God, such as fires, flash floods, and other natural disasters, or force majeure situations like riots, military action, crime investigations, and similar, are not considered staff’s fault and are excluded from this agreement.


The client is responsible for providing meals to all staff working at least five hours during an event that lasts seven hours or longer and during which said staff members are contracted to work for seven hours or longer. It is permissible to issue meals in shifts so that there is staff coverage for the entire duration of the event. – Where catering is provided by Wowu Limited, Staff members will be provided meals from the company.

Staff Usage

Staff provided by The Barn are responsible for serving and preparing food, Distributing welcome drinks (where agreed), Maintaining beverage levels (where agreed) and the cleaning and re-instating of areas which have been used by Wowu Limited for the purpose of serving/preparing food.

Staff provided by Wowu Limited are not responsible for cleaning tables (with exception of glassware/tableware provided by us), Cleaning of any other areas (Including, but not limited to Bathrooms, Toilets, Smoking Areas) Cleaning of any spillages/accidents (including but not limited to Drinks, Vomit, Blood or any other bodily fluids).

Staff reserve the right to refuse to serve anyone for any reason (including but not limited to, Should they feel threatened for their own safety or threatened for the safety of others. Should they believe the person they are serving is underage or in danger)


We will provide a recommendation (Where requested) for staffing levels for the event, However it is the client’s responsibility to estimate the size of any event and to hire the correct amount of staff.

Underage Drinking

It is entirely incumbent upon the client to control access to alcohol at any event. Wowu Limited staff will serve alcohol to anyone who appears to be of age because the client has controlled access to the client’s event. Wowu Limited stipulates that any event must be by invitation only. Confirmation of this agreement hereby indemnifies and holds harmless Wowu Limited regarding the serving of alcohol to underaged persons at the client’s event because it is entirely the responsibility of the client to ensure all guests are at least 21 years of age. Wowu Limited staff reserve the right to refuse to serve anyone for any reason. The client is responsible for all guests’ actions and must comply with all applicable local and international laws. Confirmation of this agreement also indemnifies and holds harmless Wowu Limited regarding the actions of the client or the client’s guests according to applicable federal, state, and local laws.


Gratitude’s/tips are always extra and never count as any part of the total payment for services rendered from the agency. There are no exceptions.

Terms for subscription boxes & recipe boxes:

Right to cancel

If you hold an active subscription for either our grocery boxes or our recipe boxes you have the right to cancel your plan with us. To do so you must cancel this with directly with our payment gateway provider PayPal using the below steps:

o cancel a PayPal Recurring payment, follow these steps.

  1. Log into your PayPal account.

  2. Click My Profile near the top of the page and then select My money.

  3. Find My Pre-approved Payments and click on Update button.

  4. Find the merchant whose recurring payment you want to cancel and click on Cancel button.

Where payment has already been taken for your subscription we will be unable to cancel your up and coming delivery.

Your order

  1. Your order is an offer to buy from us on a recurring delivery basis. These deliveries will take place WEEKLY every FRIDAY

  2. You place your order by using the ordering process on our website or our digital services including but not limited to our apps (the term “website” shall hereafter refer to the website and our other digital services). This involves making the selection on our site and transmitting the order to us by clicking on the “Pay Now” button. This process permits you to check and amend any errors before making an order by using the change function and/or the internet browser back button. You can also change your order any time up to the relevant cut-off date / time (see further below).

  3. You must ensure that your order and any other information you supply to us is correct and you must promptly update us if there are any changes.

  4. We will send you a confirmation email after your order and this constitutes our acceptance and is the point at which a binding legal contract is formed.

  5. We are not obliged to supply any goods which are unavailable (notwithstanding that we have accepted your offer). If any goods are unavailable, we will notify you of the unavailability as soon as possible and will arrange a credit if you have been charged.

  6. You acknowledge that, for recurring orders, we will select the relevant recipes for you if you do not make your own selection by the cut-off date/time specified on our site.

  7. The default method of communication for all correspondence from us will be over email, using the email provided on your account. In certain circumstances we may need to contact you over phone instead.

Payment & Pricing

  1. The price for the goods is as stated on our site at the time you order. VAT or sales tax is included unless we say otherwise.

  2. The following only applies if we charge for delivery: Delivery costs are charged extra at the rate shown on our site at the time you place your order. These will depend on the delivery method chosen.

  3. Payment is required in advance as explained below.

  4. You authorise us and our third party payment providers to take payment and/or to charge your payment card for the relevant amounts and at the relevant times. Despatch of the goods is subject to our being able to charge your payment card. It is your responsibility to update your payment card details as necessary. A nominal (1p) charge may be incurred if you change your payment card details.

  5. We will take your first payment when we accept your order. If you have purchased a subscription plan, payments will be taken after the relevant cut-off date/time specified on our site (which may change from time to time).

  6. Recurring deliveries can be cancelled or changed at any time via the site before the relevant cut-off for a particular delivery (subject to any applicable legal right to cancel set out in the section 2 above).

  7. We may change our prices by giving you notice by email at least 14 days before any price change takes effect. If you do not accept the new price, you should cancel your subscription as explained below as payments taken after the notice period will be at the new price.

  8. We may from time to time offer some recipes which attract an additional surcharge. This surcharge is clearly shown on the website and will be added to the cost of your standard subscription should you choose these recipes.

  9. You must contact us immediately with full details if you dispute any payment.


  1. Delivery will be complete when we deliver to the address which you specify when ordering. This will usually take place every Friday between 10am and 5pm unless specified otherwise.

  2. Unless otherwise stated, delivery dates given on our website are estimates only. If you are a Consumer, we have no liability for any losses arising from delay in delivery to the extent that this is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control and where we could not have taken reasonable steps to deal with the delay. If you are not a Consumer, we have no liability for any losses arising from delay in delivery.

  3. If you receive notification of an unsuccessful attempted delivery, it is your responsibility to use the details provided to contact the delivery company to arrange re-delivery. If nobody is available to receive the goods, we will use reasonable efforts to follow any special delivery instructions you have provided.
